The Garfield County’s fueling station needed a tougher surface than asphalt for the sharp turning and braking trucks. River City Consultants recommended TRUEGRID® as a stronger, more durable surface than asphalt and it will remain porous. The fueling station area received 23,550 sq ft of TRUEGRID PRO PLUS® filled with 3/8″ screened rock on a 6-inch sub-base of CDOT Class 6 (3/4″ minus).
The fueling station TRUEGRID® install was so successful, Garfield County Fairgrounds installed another 22,000 sq ft in its tractor-trailer staging and parking area next to the horse stalls. This area was originally planned to have asphalt. Comparing the durability, permeability, and cost-savings, asphalt could not compete with TRUEGRID®.
