How does plastic reinforcement differentiate itself from typical commercial paving?

Typical commercial pavement construction involves high labor costs, higher land usage and many other issues. By comparison, plastic reinforcement systems help lower your parking lot construction cost through a variety of methods. Compared to concrete, TRUEGRID’s permeable pavers are 1/3-1/2 lower in construction costs while remaining comparable to asphalt. When you add in virtually no maintenance cost because it holds up far better than asphalt in hot weather and produces no cracking or potholes, it’s easy to see how our system saves maintenance costs. What’s more, because drainage and stormwater retention and detention is incorporated directly under the parking lot, you’ll realize land usage up to 100% in most situations with proper design while avoiding ponding, rutting, runoff and mud. But there are more environmental benefits. By providing a lower heat retaining pavement, it remains cool, helping minimize the heat island effect. If you need parking on grass solutions, TRUEGRID pavers provide a green, natural landscape for fire lanes, event centers, sports venues and overflow parking. As a low impact development building methods, TRUEGRID permeable pavers can provide LEED points for green structures as well as using UV stabilized 100% post consumer recycled plastics and recycled concrete or road base for its sub-base drainage and retention system. What are common commercial paving solutions?

Other common paving solutions are problematic. Asphalt retains heat while requiring more land for stormwater drainage, retention and detention features while performing poorly in hot weather and leaving ruts and cracks that require maintenance. Concrete performs better than asphalt but is more expensive and still requires higher land usage and adds to the heat island effect. Gravel is permeable, but without a plastic grid system in place, it can spread, resulting in expensive refilling as well as grading to remove rutting, ponding or washouts caused by everyday use and rainstorms. By comparison, TRUEGRID helps avoid the heat island effect, requires no maintenance and can handle heavy loads in any weather while being manufactured from recycled plastics. What is the difference between a concrete system and plastic grid system for commercial paving?

Because TRUEGRID plastic grid system is water permeable and requires little or no extra drainage elements and retention/detention ponds, it prevents the stormwater runoff, lower land usage and additional construction costs of concrete. It also remains cooler, preventing the heat island effect, has lower initial cost, is maintenance free and is natural and earth friendly. What’s more, gravel filled TRUEGRID permeable pavers are also is easier on truck tires and axles during turning, helping reduce wear and tear of your fleet vehicles.
