  • WHAT: Employee Parking Lot
  • WHERE: Houston, TX
  • SIZE: 64,000 sq. ft.

TRUEGRID DECK, the latest patented addition to the TRUEGRID PRO PLUS system, made its debut recently in a 64,000 sf employee parking lot for a medical products manufacturer. 1200 sf of DECK was installed for handicap parking spaces attached to the gravel filled PRO PLUS lot.

DECK has a permeable, gravel free surface and is connected to a PRO PLUS base. No gravel fill is needed as the system is H20/ HS20 rated (see the 60,000 lbs. gravel truck on top of the DECK in the photo below)

DECK drains instantly and connects to the adjacent PRO PLUS. The handicap symbols and stripes were painted in place on the DECK. Yellow SuperSpot parking markers were used for striping in the PRO PLUS part of the lot.

100 % land utilization was achieved as the DECK & gravel filled PRO PLUS lot were permitted for 100% pervious cover and storm water detention. 29,866 CF of detention within the lot provides bonus flood mitigation to the surrounding offices

Project Scope

100% land utilization was the goal for this project. By eliminating a separate stormwater detention area, the acreage would be fully utilized for employee parking.

Solution

PRO PLUS was used for the majority of the lot and DECK was specified by the engineers and architect to provide an upscale aesthetic via the bright blue color for the medical device manufacturer while providing fully permeable parking in the handicap spaces. The DECK surface was desired for optimal wheelchair usability.

TRUE RESULTS

100% land utilization, maximum number of employee parking spaces, an attractive, welcoming parking lot.
